Raúl Miguel Sarante Solimán is an architect who graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD). He has worked as a designer on several architectural projects located in various locations in the Dominican Republic. He has a master’s degree in Manejo y Conservación de Bosques Tropicales y Biodiversidad del Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza (CATIE), Costa Rica.
His master’s thesis was dedicated to the ecological connectivity of urban landscapes with a case study in the city of Santo Domingo. In this study, he evaluated the conservation of the city’s green infrastructure for the maintenance of biodiversity.
Parallel to his career as an architect, Raúl has worked in the field of visual arts in which he has expressed his interest in abstraction and geometric figuration with works in oil on canvas and other artistic techniques.
He has exhibited his paintings in different cultural centers such as the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Centro Cultural Dominico-Americano and the Galería de arte Guillo Pérez.
